Key Rules

  • 6 Players on the pitch at a time, GK optional (if playing with GK, they should be fully kitted)
  • If there is no GK, teams play with 6 outfield players (no kicking back allowed)
  • Min 2 females on the pitch at all times
  • Min 4 players on pitch to start the match – we’ll be running on a tight schedule so please be
    ready
  • Central time keeping will be kept – please listen for horn
  • Subs can be made at any time throughout the game
  • Games will be 12 min one way with a 3 minute change over. Should we fall behind, game
    duration will be shortened
  • For safety reasons, no hitting at all, including tomahawks. Sweep (forehand &
    backhand) push, overhead etc all allowed. Overheads can be received above shoulder
  • Female goals count for 2 goals during the game. Only 1 goal is counted for the Top Goal
    Scorers list.
  • ANY potential goal stopped intentionally by players foot/body etc will result in a penalty
    goal.
  • Where no GK is present, ball has to hit the backboard in order for the goal to count. Where
    GK is present, net goals can be scored.
  • Score from inside the yellow football box
  • Standard HKHA & FIH hockey rules apply, 3m rule instead of 5 m
  • No short corners will be played, free hit outside the box – ball to travel 3m before entering
    box. Intentional ball out the back line will result in an uncontested shoot out from the
    halfway line (No GK or defenders in goal)
  • 3 points for a win, 2 points for a score draw, 1 point for a goaless draw, 0 points for a loss
  • Where points are tied, GF will decide the higher finishing team. If still tied, GA will be taken into account
  • Round-Robin results may end in a tied result. Knockout ties will be resolved with an
    uncontested shoot out from the halfway line (No GK’s or defenders in goal). 3 players from
    each team. If still drawn after the 1st round, sudden death shootout will apply.
  • We have arranged for umpirers to assist with the afternoon games. Teams may still at some
    point be required to assist with umpiring games – no umpiring qualification required
  • Umpires decision is final – please be a good sport and just get on with it
  • PLAY FAIR, BE A GOOD SPORT AND HAVE FUN!

As per tradition, its a fancy dress, so get creative, but make sure you can still pull off your moves on the pitch.

COO Recovery

  • 🚌- Bus to HKCC will leave from HKJC Museum (entrance to infield from Morrison Hill). We will start the crocodile of players to bus as soon as pack up is completed (~18:45). Space has been accounted for only those who signed up for the social event.
  • 🏊‍♀- access to pool and changing rooms/ shower will be available.
