LEARNING HOCKEY WITH HKCC

We run a vibrant junior section, introducing players to the game from as young as four years old and developing them all the way up through their teenage years and on into adult hockey.

We believe that the game should be fun. All our coaching is structured around enjoyment and learning while also using sport as a vehicle to share life lessons around the importance of teamwork, resilience and working hard to reach your goals.

We start our youngest players in the sports hall at HKCC, learning the basics of movement and hockey in a very controlled safe environment. As they progress we offer sessions at the club and also on the astroturf pitches in Happy Valley where they can learn the full range of skills and tactics on a bigger stage.

We also get all our teams playing small sided games in tournaments from a young age so that they learn how to become a good team player and how to apply their skills in a game context.

Junior Classes

We run junior classes on the following days each week as well as a number of junior tournaments

Saturday mornings

  • 8am: U12 at Happy Valley
  • 8am: U10 at Happy Valley
  • 9.30am U8 at HKCC
  • 10.30am U6/U8 at HKCC
  • 11.30am Beginners at HKCC

Tuesday afternoons

  • 15:45 Beginners at HKCC
  • 16:30 U8/U10 at HKCC
  • 17:30 U10/U12 at HKCC
